View of Inverness Castle from River Ness

Date is a guess. Nice old bridge, and soooooo much more handsome than the current one. Note the gables of the building behind the bridge. This no longer stands, and in its place is a boxy 1960s monstrosity.

100 Years Ago - the projected new road & embankment at the east end of the old bridge between Tolmie Castle & the river is contracted for & will be formed without delay. When completed it will be a most striking improvement
