Thanks for the site. It evokes many memories. Looking back, it is such a tragedy that the old Ness Bridge was demolished as it added elegance. Also, the first Bridge Street development. My art teacher at the time said that the architects responsible should have had their names inscribed into the building. Old Inverness was a gracious town and it fell foul of bad planning.

Inverness has changed over the years I still have family/friends there and visit as often as I can /i used to go back and forth across the black isle when the ferry boat used to be there that was a great time and a long time ago everytime I go home;there is always something new

What a gem of a site! I live in Australia but "inverness" is a word that takes me back to childhood memories of my grandmother saying that her mother's family came from Inverness. That always fascinated me - I visited in 1969 and three times in the last few years. Just recently I discovered that my G-G-Grandfather was a tailor who lived in Tomnahurich Street in 1841.
